I really don't know what to say, I've been busy of course with my school stuff. I'm getting an A in Multimedia Arts, Gym and Science. I'm getting a B in Math and Language Arts, and since my parents don't accept anything lower than a B; I'm working to improve my grade in History.
My football team is doing good, we got a game Sunday against Birmingham; if we win we go into the playoffs, as the number 1 seed.
I don't know what the word is that I want to say, but Thank You always works. My parents set this up on Thursday, October 11, 2007, it hasn't been a week yet, I barely have looked at most of the pages myself and the counter is up over 200 visits. I like this site and I will be putting some exciting stuff up later. But, in the meantime, thanks to you all for continuing to support me, and doing and saying encouraging things to and about me. On the contact page, there are two surveys and my guest book, please fill those out too. As a matter fact, at last check I led some impressive athletes in a survey of "Who is the best basketball player."
Check Back, I will up date it later, with always my game scores and next game time and date, and a bunch of other stuff too.

This is now my Blog Page. This entry is "Thanks-giving." This is and can be a very big month, where I can really say, "Thank You" in a special way to my parents. I can do that by first making the Honor Roll at School; Winning a Championship with the Pontiac Panthers in Football; and by representing my school as a member of its basketball team. Its important to me to thank them for the sacrifices they have made and continue to make as they attempt to mold me into the type of young man that they desire for me to be. They stay on me, and although I am not always ready or happy to do all the things that they ask of me; in the end, I do know that they would not ask me to do things, that would not be important to them or me being a better person. They are the toughest coaches that I have had to this point. I have accomplished a lot, but they ask for the best from me, I haven't always gave my best effort, but when I have, I have won BIG!

This entry is "When All isn't Enough." Today, we came up short, loosing 16 -13 to Lake Orion. The Dragons made plays, at crucial times; they deserved the win. I wish them well in the Superbowl. We had a great season, but of course the ultimate goal was to win the championship. Our coaches did a good job getting us prepared for each game, our players left it all on the field. We all cried when we loss, because we played as hard as we could. Not really much else to say. Thanks to all my coaches and teammates for believing in me, and allowing me to be your Quarterback, Safety, Team Captain, and Academic All-American. The only disappointment is not obtaining our team goal, we had a great season.

This entry is "Now you know me." On my blog (10/27/07) I had three goals, that I wanted to accomplish this month. I now can say, I achieved 2 of the 3. I'm on the "Honor Roll" for 1st Marking Period. I'm happy about that, can't you tell the gold apples on almost every page. Plus we just played our first basketball game at OLMS, I had a good game, and my team did too. We got to work on boxing out for rebounds and our defense, but we will get better, oh and we did still win. But, its different around school, people who didn't speak now speak. Those that did, have added a smile and more dap to the handshake.
When I told my mom about the change, she said "its not them, its you," she's probably right. I have worked hard in school before, but for the wrong reasons, so people would like me and to be popular. Now, I see all that comes with the package of being a good student; being involved in school activities and playing sports for my school.

This entry is "Attitude determines Altitude." Today, I scored 6 points in less than 10 seconds to help my team from certain defeat to a win. Everybody was happy; the principal; the coach; me and my teammates, even guys from the other team came and congratulated me. Well not everybody, my Dad, was just as mad as if we had loss. He said that he was happy for me and the team, getting the win; but he talked about, my attitude, "as not being to his liking." He reminded me that "even on the good days; a bad attitude overshadows everything postive." He says, "those who were watching the team, are happy; those who were watching you are not." He is right, I was selfish, I knew I could help the team, and I didn't act the right way, even though I did help us win. I will improve and continue to be a better person, just watch. Both my Mom and my Dad have a way of bringing me back to earth, but at least for 10 seconds I got a chance to fly in the clouds, and boy did we need that win.

This entry "A Pot of Gold ain't always at the end of the Rainbow." My 7th grade basketball season is almost over at Orchard Lake Middle School (OLMS). I know that our record is not as great as I want it to be, but the most important thing is that players are learning and developing their basketball skills. At this level all kids should try to do is work on their weakness' and improve themselves. One thing I can say is that MOST of the people on our middle school basketball team have improved. I, personally try to work on "controlling my attitude," again "Attitude determines Altitude", and that is what my dad stresses to me. One example that he told me that I won't forget is "you have to always play your best, through pain, tears whatever." Then he said " you never know who is in the stands, anybody could be in the stands watching you and if you play bad you might not get another chance to impress. Be the best you can be at all times."

This entry is about "Chance of Having Opportunities." When you get an opportunity to travel somewhere or go to a place where you can perform, you do/be your best. For example this past weekend I went to Fort Wayne, Indiana for a basketball tournament for "The Family." We were way out of town at a place that I don't know anybody except for the people I came with. Like I said in my previous blog" YOU NEVER KNOW WHO IS WATCHING YOU". I didn't know who was in the stands watching but for the time I was on the court I performed up to my abilities. Yeah, there were a few things that I did wrong in the game, but my dad pointed them out after the games and told me what to do to correct what I did wrong. I felt like I improved every game and I improved on my weaknesses. There are still things that I need to work on. We won the CHAMPIONSHIP and had a record of 4-0. Happy belated New Years.

This entry is "To Whom Much is Given; Much is Required." That's a quote out of the Bible, and its strong. In the month of January, I have been invited to Invitation-only camps; NBA Superstar's Camps; Camps by Magazines, Camps out of the country and now maybe even an All-American camp. Before I can even act like I may have a "big head", stopped in my tracks by my mom. "All these things are great honors, however the easy part is to go and have fun. The hard part is to stay focused, be humble, along with driven, and continue to work hard at being a good person; at being a good student and at being a good athlete. Things that are good; continue striving to improve; things that are not so good; work extra hard to improve. Never being satisfied = Never being disappointed." What else can I say after that except, how do you like my cartoon?

This entry is "EDUCATION." Education is my 3rd priority in life after God, and My Family. School is one of the best things open up the doors to opportunities. By getting a college education, it can also be a way to help you earn a job, or a career, which as you get older will put money in your pocket. My parents tell me nowadays be successful you need to have it. The "good life" comes more to those who have a college education.
SOME of the schools that I want to go to can help you/me get in to college or a university for free. My dad never gets off my back about performing well in school so that I can pick my own university when I get out of high school. My dad never lets me slack in school and he is on top of everything, so when I grow up; that I can be the person I want to be. My dad and mom always say" If I develop bad habits now I will have the same habits when I am grown." Happy Valentines Day!!

This entry is "Black History." On my home page, you see some schools that I hope that I could have an opportunity to go to. Everybody says that most of these schools are some of the best in Michigan. I don't know. This month, I do wonder, what schools teach Black History. Do any of these? I have been in school 7 years now, and every year, I learn about Martin Luther King and Rosa Parks. Nobody else black is important for us to learn about.
In 5th grade, I taught my teacher something, I did my presentation on Edgar D. Nixon. She didn't know, and nobody else in the school knew who he was. Not to spoil it, if you don't know, you need to know. He was more important than MLK or Rosa Parks to the Montgomery Bus Boycott. The Bus Boycott, led into the Civil Rights Movement. Google him and learn something. The next year back to MLK and Rosa Parks.
My mom and dad have a bunch of others that I am interested in learning about, at the top of the list, is a guy named Eric Monte. My dad says "his contributions have led to a development of the Black Family structure." I know about or have heard about "Cooley High", "Good Times", "The Jeffersons", "The Cosby Show", and "What's Happening." I guess, all of these are shows that were written about at different points in his life, and as my parents say, ain't it funny that one guy, writes all of the long lasting black sitcoms; how positives can be found in poverty; success can be continued into the middle class, and individuals can be seen in a positive life without breaking the law and or being brought down my drugs?" But the average person has never even heard of Eric Monte.

This entry is "An Occasion to Celebrate." MEAP scores were released and sent out to Schools, School District's and also parents. We take the test in the Fall and for some reason it takes all the way to the Spring for the results to come back. There are four areas that were tested, my results were as follows:
ELA - "Proficient" performing at or slightly above grade level.
Writing - "Proficient" performing at or slightly above grade level.
Reading - "Proficient" performing at or slightly above grade level.
Math - "Advanced Proficient" performing above grade level.
Every now and then you have to make a point of this, as all athletes are NOT dummy's.

This entry is "APPRECIATION." "Happy Mother's Day", This year represents the 100th year that America celebrates the second Sunday in May, as "Mother's Day." Its a good holiday, we don't always say thank you, we don't always nod and smile, we don't alway hug and kiss. Its not that we don't appreciate the great things our mothers do for us, its that we think that they somehow get tired of us saying thank you. Well, at least that's how I thought. But on this day which is reserved especially to say "thank you", "I love you" and to show how much appreciation that we all have for our mothers, I realize how wrong my thinking was. My mother has been and means so much to me, its unbelievable. As I look at it she does a lot for
me, whether it be waking me up in the morning, so that I can get ready for breakfast, which she cooks in the morning. Or whether it be her ironing my clothes, so I can look good in school. Or whether it be cooking lunch and or dinner for my family. Or whether it be helping me with my homework; taking me to practice, games or camps for all the sports that I play. Or whether it be cheering for me when my team is winning or loosing. Or whether it be pushing me to be a better person at home, school and in sports. Or whether it be giving me support when I need it the most or tough love when I think that I have out grown being the child or trying to be lazy. My mom is my sister that I don't have, the friend that I need to have. Everybody thinks their mom is the best, and so do I. You don't get the opportunity to go pick your family members, but if I had the opportunity to go pick a mom, I would pick the one that I have everytime. Although I don't say it enough, or a lot, "Thank You!" Here is my nod of approval and my smile of appreciation. Take this and many more, as my "hugs and kisses" as my way to say, "I love you!" Mother's Day should be everyday, and everyday I celebrate my mother. "Happy Mother's Day - Momma, I love you."

This entry is "Take time to Remember."For many people "Memorial Day" is a celebration of those who have died in the Armed Forces. To those who have died and or risk their lives, I too salute them! In my family, not only do we recognize that, we take time out to remember the loved ones of our family who have past. We go out to each grave site and put flowers on them. I get a chance to learn about my great grand parents who faught in World War I, and lived during the Great Depression; about my grand parents who faught in World War II and other family members who faught in the Korean War; or those that lived through Segregation and the Civil Rights Movement. Its a learning opportunity not only about my family but how those that have died, lived during these times in history; the contributions that they made as well as the sacrifices. Along with this, our family shares and spends time; cook, eat, laugh and have fun, all this in celebration of the lives that have come and gone. We take time to remember.

This entry is "The Acceptance." I spent some time, two nights ago at Gameworks, with other applicants to Brother Rice Prep. Rice over the past two years has grown to be my top choice, and this would be an opportunity to meet other students who wanted to go. While there, we met with the admissions counselors too. Today, came my letter that I had been accepted. Its and honor and a priviledge to have been accepted an a major academic challenge. Im am happy and look forward to being a "Warrior."

This entry is "Being a Student Athlete." Student-Athlete means being a student first, then an athlete. It requires doing your homework, studying, and working hard. Then going to practice and working hard. It means that you got to be focused at school and on the field. There will be times when, it is possible that the both practices and games, if necessary can and will be missed in order to maintain good standing in school. My parents always tell me that I
"...should not mix the two, each have there place, however school is at the forefront." Being a student-athlete requires focus and desire.

This entry is "A lot learned, and a lot too learn." Earlier this week I started Speed and Agilitity Training at Athletic Republic in Auburn Hills. I have never really concentrated on speed and I didn't know what Agility was. The one hour sessions which was my first, made me tired, but it was fun. I learned the importance of stretching and training.

This entry is "Its Official." I'm a teen-ager, yesterday I turned 13 and I am excited about nearing grown. Yesterday also marked the end of the Central - Northern Rivalry. It was a packed house at Central and both teams gave it their all, Central won the Freshman and JV games by 1 point, and Northern won the Varsity game by 20. It was nice to see all those people come out for my birthday.

This entry is "Celebrations." The month of March marks many celebrations. After my birthday on March 3, comes my dad's on March 13 and my younger brother on March 15. Then you have March Madness, basketball at the High School and College level has its Tournaments and Championships, and the Final Four is in Detroit this year. This is also the time that the Spring Season comes in and washes away the Winter.

This entry is "The Final Four". For the second year in a row, someone was playing in the National Championship game, who previously had played for my AAU team. For the second year in a row, they would finish as runner-up. They didn't complete the task, but they did get an experience that many can only dream of. Especially, this year as the Championship game was held right here in my home state. For Memphis last year and Michigan State this year, we celebrate the hardwork that paid off to get to this point.

This entry is "A Fourth Sport?" Track season has begun and I am having fun. Practice makes me tired every day. Because our teams are combined, we have joined with the other West Bloomfield Middle School. It gives me a chance to meet more friends and it strengthens our team. In two meets, I have won the 200 Meters; took 3rd in the 400 Meters and Long Jump; and 4th in the 200 Meters Relay and the 400 Meters Relay. I guess its a decent start, for my first time, some say its a great start. I hope to do better and continue to improve.

This entry is "The Day has Finaly Come..." I would like to thank all of you who have truly supported me over the years. Your support has been especially appreciated during the challenging times. I also would like to thank all of you, who have truly hoped that I would fail, you have given me extra motivation in both the classroom and on the court and field to improve my skills. Those who still have yet to get to know me, you won't be disappointed. "Yawl Get Ready," its gonna be fun. I look forward to the challenges at Brother Rice as a Student and as an Athlete...and if you are the opposition, then I stand corrected, it wont be much fun for you, at all. T. Seay 3 has arrived, and "He's in the Building", Let's Get It!

This entry is "Being Appreciative." In my Christianity class, we were taught about being appreciative of the opportunities that we are given in life. Also we we discussed not taking things for granted. It was a great lesson, I know sometime I think that whatever is fun, or exciting in my eyes is the things that I want. However, my parents make a point for me to understand, nothing that they have provided for me comes with out hardwork and many sacrifices. To them and all my family and friends, I want to say "Thank You". We are 3-0 and in two hours we have a big game against CC. Let's have a great game, wish me luck.

This entry is "Patience." We lost a game to our rivals, Catholic Central 21-7, in the game I took a helmet to the outside of my knee. I was disappointed that I did not get an opportunity to return to the game and we lost. Being this was the first time of any kind that I had been injured, I went to the doctor and spent the week icing my knee down. Now here at the time of this entry we have also lost to De La Salle 29-25, two losses, and two in a row. I guess I will have to improve my workout in order that I can help the team even more. I have patience and I believe we will be back on track next week.
